Hella Camera Counting Lines Configuration

This guide details how to create a counting line and test its accuracy

  1. FIRST Go to Camera position and set the camera height and floor area. 

    1. The camera height should be the same height or close to the actual height

      1. You should have the technician measure the distance from the floor to the camera once its installed. You will need to convert inches to CM

      2. usually if you select save auto calibration it should be accurate but we need to verify with an actual measurement

    2. The floor area should never go into the red area.

    3. The floor area should  mark as much floor as possible while avoiding obstructions on the ground and not going into the doorway at all.

    4. You can make up to 21 points on the floor area.

    5. HIT SAVE WHEN DONE

    6. Height Range may need to be adjusted but the camera position will prompt you if it detect higher or lower than standard height. If you adjust the height range you must reboot the camera for it to update




  2. SECOND we need to mark any obstuctions that are coming from the ceiling or wall. Obstuction tool IS NOT used for obstructions coming from the ground.

    1. Select the Edit button and then mark all obstructions from ceiling or wall. 

    2. HIT SAVE WHEN DONE






THIRD Set the counting Line

  1. To create a new counting line select the "+" button on this screen. Then name the countingn line entrance_count (this is the field that push's into admin)

  2. The line must have ample distance between it and the door.

  3. The line must meet the floor area not pass through it into the red.

  4. Set the delay in and out to Infinity 

  5. Make sure the arrows on the counting line point away from the entrance door. There is an icon with 2 arrows that allows you to change the direction of counting. 

  6. You need to save by selecting the check mark icon. 

  1. Once you feel the counting is accurate change the delay back to 30 seconds in and out. 
  2. Save your changes by selecting the check mark icon.

  3. Leave the group counting and cart counting boxes unchecked.



FOURTH Test the camera by going to the Diagnostics tab. Have the technician walk in and out of the building 10 times to ensure the best accuracy.
  1. Select the play button on the live view to watch counting in real time.
  2. Select mark objects. this will show you the height that the camera is detecting people. You can compare this with the technicians actual height to make sure its accurate. 
  3. If the height is not accurate you may need to go back and adjust the floor area or camera position height. 


ADDITIONAL TROUBLESHOOTING you can download video and watch playback of the camera for a set time.
  1. Go to Video Service and check the video recording box to enable it. (uncheck when done)
  2. You can select start and it will begin recording, then hit stop to stop recording. 
    1. you will select download video on the right to download the clip
  3. You can also set a recording in the future for a certain time frame
    1. check time triggered recording
    2. set date
    3. set time
    4. set duration
    5. download video on the right

  1. To open the video file you downloaded select the folder on top left
  2. Then select the zip file from your downloads folder
  3. Once you open it a second window will show up with the playback feed
  4. to see the data on the second window select the symbols on the top of the first window that apply.
